it cost about $2.2 million in damage. two teens were killed in the crash. investigators aren't sure what caused the accident. remnants of hurricane isaac continue to soak the east coast with rain, possible tornadoes popping up in new jersey and in rochester, new york, rain clogged roads as people were heading back to work. residents are returning to their homes and trying to queen up as the floodwaters recede. it's been a very active period of weather. we had a shower coming down currently south of d.c., thunderstorm toward culpepper, virginia. here on the eastern shore, not too far from galena, middleton, a shower. the heat and humidity making

abc2's jeff hager has more. >> reporter: you can still find the for sale sig. you just have to search harder. they have been searching for the past six months and they still haven't found their next home. >> we are looking in all different price ranges and not seeing what we want because there's just no inventory. >> reporter: that's from a couple who also built their own real estate company. the harris' opened their franchise on canton square in 2008 just in team for the housing bust. they sold 125 homes that first year. now they average that many every month. >> baltimore is rocking it. >> reporter: in the last year harris said home sales for the month of july jumped by $10 million here. the average price of a home in

baltimore jumped $28,000. >> this is good news, believe it or not. this is the only category that we've seen less percentage wise because the market has gone up. we're seeing a steady increase in buyers. less houses available for small in baltimore city. >> reporter: harris said many people who were under water are sitting on them or rnting them. it's creating this new shortage on the market. >> we've noticed a small adjustment in prices, multiple contracts on properties. we're seeing it from the brokerage side as well. >> reporter: they are further signs that housing could be slowly rebounding, making it a seller's market in the process. in baltimore, jeff hager, abc2 news. >> according to the maryland association of realtors, home prices neared the national increase of 3.8% since july of last year. the nation's debt continues to grow. it has now topped $16 trillion,

-- of a speedboat caught on camera. it hit a large wake in missouri. everyone on the boat were knocked off of their feet. five people were taken to a local hospital for treatment. black bear on the loose again after bolting to his free do. the bear crawled up a tree in the front parking lot of an apartment building outside of cleveland, ohio. curious crowds started gathering to watch. >> i see this big black bear. he's been in the tree since 9:00 this morning. i was wondering how he got up there. >> wildlife officers tried to coax the bear down by soaking him with a water hose. then they built a fence around the tree and set a humane trap but the bear climbed down and ran through the parking lot. he climbed over a few fences and

election. cnn money hit the streets of los angeles, and dales. in terms of wages the general consensus seems to be most people don't make as much money pass they used to. >> i make about a third of what i did. >> no. >> no. i'm making less money and the sad part is i have a masters degree. >> even a corporate job doesn't pay what it was four or five years ago. >> making the same amount of money, able to save a little bit but same as before. >> four years ago struggle. today even more struggle. >> reporter: a poll is going on right now but so far two thirds say they're making more money than they did in 2008. that may be the case for some individuals but as a nation we are making less. the immediate jan household income four years ago was $55,000 a year.

the eastern shore. through your thursday maybe a pop-up shower but things are relatively dry. friday a new boundary pushing through. could it spark a shower, yes but most of it will stay west of the central part of the state. active across the east coast with a couple of frontal boundaries marching in. what's left of isaac, this is the old pressure system. it's headed back into the warm waters of the gulf. the national hurricane center giving us a 5% chance of redeveloping. this could become a new named storm, what was left of isaac down in the gulf. hurricane leslie, a threat to bermuda big time last this makes category two strength. today it did jump up to category one. 69 as we stay sticky into the day tomorrow.

information. clinton, as far as he goes, he's a top surrogate for the obama campaign and has appeared in lots of campaign ads. there's a slight risk he may overshadow president obama because he does have that high popularity rating. despite this he will be giving that prime-time speech and formally nominating the president. >> all right. a lot of people are still talking about michelle obama's dress, her speech, what are you hearing about that? >> reporter: people stalking about the dress and some people saying they feel like they have to go work out after seeing that dress and the way this looked. let's talk more about the speech itself because that's way more important. many people inside the convention hall said she really brought back some of that enthroughism from four years ago and the more personal stories. she also tried to relate to some

report, restaurants are starting to use variable pricing. you'll pay more to book reservations at restaurants during peak dining hours. the new policy would benefit those who dine on week nights or early birds. september is the time of the year that retailers start working hard to draw shoppers back into the stores after the summer lull. there are certain items you are better off buying in september when price are down. experts say if you're looking to lease a car, prices are down now. jewelry is also cheaper in september. ranges and stoves are typically discounted around labor day as stores try to get rid of the old models. of course back-to-school stuff and anything summer related is cheaper in september due to a low demand.
